Accessibility
Statement · October 2026
We want everyone to be able to use the Enshrouded Database, with a keyboard, a screen reader, zoomed in or on a phone. Our target is the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 at level AA. We have not had the site audited by a third party, and we don't claim it fully meets that standard.
What we check
Each kind of page (lists, detail pages, the map, the skill planner, the save editor, the blog, search and the forms) is tested with the axe automated checker at desktop and phone widths, plus scripted keyboard, zoom and text-spacing tests. These were last run in October 2026. Automated tests don't find every problem.
- Keyboard use: a skip link, visible focus on every control, and menus and dialogs that close with Escape.
- Text and form-field contrast, phone widths, and reduced motion.
- Names for buttons, links, form fields and icons, and announcements when search or tool results change, including the map's place search.
- Touch targets of at least 24 by 24 pixels, and text that reflows at 320 pixels wide (400% zoom) without scrolling sideways, apart from wide tables and the map.
Known limitations
- Interactive map. The map is a picture of the game world and can't be fully described to a screen reader. Map markers are small and can sit close together. The items, creatures and places on the map have their own pages, and site search finds them by name.
- Skill planner. The tree is a drawing. Nodes can be reached and bought with the keyboard, and every skill also has its own page with the same text. Some small nodes are under 24 pixels when the whole tree is zoomed out; zoom in to make them bigger.
- Save editor. Items can be moved by dragging, or by selecting one, pressing Move and picking the new slot, with the keyboard or a tap. Opening a save uses your browser's normal file picker.
- Text spacing. If you override line and letter spacing, the short summaries on blog cards are cut off after a few lines. The full text is on each post.
- Game images. Item and creature icons come from the game. Where an icon sits next to its name it is treated as decoration.
Tell us about a barrier
